Hard-to-Find & Custom Part Sourcing

When the clean catalogue number is missing, the job becomes information gathering before it becomes purchasing.

HOW WE HELP

Hard-to-Find & Custom Part Sourcing

Start with whatever evidence exists: an old part, equipment manual, blurry manufacturer reference, dimensions, drawing, photo or description of the function. The first objective is to determine whether the requirement is specific enough to search responsibly.

WORKFLOW

A practical sourcing workflow

01

Collect evidence

Gather markings, dimensions, application information, photos and any old invoices/manual references.

02

Identify the unknowns

Separate confirmed facts from assumptions and determine what else must be measured or verified.

03

Search realistic options

Review exact references first, then consider alternatives only when the technical requirement supports that approach.

04

Confirm before ordering

Commercial availability does not by itself prove suitability. The customer should review the proposed item against the actual application.

FAQ

Before you send the request

Can you find a part from a photo alone?

Sometimes a photo narrows the category, but it rarely confirms every technical detail. Expect follow-up questions for dimensions or application information.

What if the original manufacturer no longer makes it?

We can review whether another sourcing path appears possible, but obsolete components do not always have a safe or commercially available substitute.

Can you reverse engineer a custom part?

This service is primarily sourcing and requirement clarification. If engineering, fabrication drawings or professional design services are required, those should be identified separately.

What makes a hard-to-find request faster?

Good photos, accurate dimensions, equipment information, old part numbers, manual pages and clear quantity/timing requirements.
